"Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
I give all glory and honor to God for His faithfulness to the Shalom Institute family. Since the establishment of Shalom Bible College (now Shalom Institute) on October 6, 1998, by Rev. Dr. Roger F. Kemp, we have experienced God's guidance, grace, and provision through the support of churches, organizations, and individuals who share our vision.
Over the years, Shalom Institute has trained hundreds of young men and women who are now serving the Lord in churches, mission fields, educational institutions, and various ministries. As a ministry of the Lower Assam Baptist Fellowship, the Institute continues to play a significant role in theological education and leadership development in the region.
Our mission is to provide contextually relevant theological education that promotes academic excellence, spiritual and character formation, and holistic transformation. We are committed to equipping servant leaders who will faithfully engage in God's mission and make a positive impact in the Church and society.
In March 2025, I was entrusted with the responsibility of serving as Principal after nineteen years of experience in leadership, administration, and mission work. I am grateful to God for His continued blessings upon the Institute and to all our well-wishers, churches, prayer partners, and supporters whose prayers and contributions sustain this ministry.
As we look to the future, we are actively pursuing accreditation with the Asia Theological Association (ATA) and expanding our facilities to create a more conducive environment for learning and spiritual formation. Our development plans include upgrading the library and its resources, strengthening faculty development, and constructing essential infrastructure such as a chapel hall, boys' and girls' hostels, classrooms, a library and administrative building, faculty quarters, and a common dining hall.
We also envision introducing a residential Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program by next year, followed by M.Th. and other advanced degree programs. In addition, we hope to offer vocational and skill-development training, music education, and community-based educational initiatives that will contribute to the holistic development of society.
We invite individuals, churches, organizations, and theological institutions to partner with us in this mission. Your prayers, encouragement, and support will help us continue preparing men and women for effective Christian service and leadership.
May the Lord richly bless you and use you for His glory.
In His Service,
Rev. Prosenjit Basumatary
